Concept information
Definicja
- The cheolhyeongeum is a metallic string instrument invented by the late master Kim Yeong-cheol in the 1940s. Kim was designated to the rope walking art holder in 1976. It is similar to not only the geomungo and the Hawaiina guitar that the musician presses and makes pitches with the round shape stick to decide and to make pitch. The cheolhyeongeum has a tool called "nongok" to make pitch and to decorate the sound. The right hand uses a pick to pluck the strings just like the suldae of geomungo. However, the musician grabs it differently as if he holds a pencil.
