- Shaker of the Mijikenda-Kiriama people of Coastal Kenya and the Luo people of West Kenya. The ajawa consists of a calabash covered with shells, tied in a net; the ajawa is used to accompany dances; to accompany sengenya drums and kirigongo. Used before also by the Luhya community where it is called Shimuka
