Définition
- Long cylindrical drum of the Chika and Embu-Mbeere people of Central Kenya. Carved from a large log. Held with a strap on the shoulder during playing, or taken between the legs, so that the players can dance. They change positions duirng the same dance. The drums are accompanied by a whistle, which controls the drum beats, and give the rhythm for the dance passes. It is played by men for entertainment; accompanment of the Mwinjiru dance
