  • A kind of trumpet (straight labrosone) with a conical profile, made from a trunk of a young tree that is cut along in two halves, then each is hollowed, and finally both are put back together with the help of pitch; formerly used for apotropaic purposes (while making the ritual uproar) and signalling (shepherds, fishermen, firefighters, to signal the beginning of rituals and ceremonies); nowadays as part of folk revival; a symbol of Cassubians' ethnic identity (Kaszuby, the region of Poland)
