  • Transverse flute of the Mijikenda-Rabai and -Digo people of the coastal region of Kenya; made of a bamboo stem of which a nod stops the end of the flute. Six fingerholes, one hole for blowing. The tube is decorated with burnt small crosses all over the flute. The chivoti plays melodic accompaniments. It accompanies songs and the sengenya dance.
