  • Large oboe of the Mijikenda-Giriama people of the coastal region of Kenya. . The bung'o oboe consists of three parts: a cylindrical bamboo tube with 3 fingerholes for pitch variation, a conical bell in wood; and double reed with pirouette. The large oboe is a solo instrument, used in the Sengenya dance, played during the short intervals and signalling the movement of the dances. The songs will tell the occasion (wedding, funeral, harvest, child birth). They sing the song and people respond to it: call and respons
