- Drums with barrel-shaped bodies, where the diameter is larger at the middle than at the ends. The drum bodies are enclosed by a tightly stretched membrane at either end. The membranes are indirectly struck by pendant or enclosed pellets, or similar objects, when the drum is shaken. (en)
