Définition

  • One or more strings are stretched between fixed points. The string bearer and the resonator are organically united and cannot be separated without destroying the instrument. The resonator is built up from wood in the form of a box. NB: lutes whose body is built up in the shape of a bowl are classified as bowl lutes. Violin, viol, guitar. (en)
