Definition

  • Drums with tubular bodies that have a larger diameter at the middle than at the ends. The drum bodies are rectilinear, with an angular profile. Tightly stretched membranes enclose the body at either end. The membranes are directly struck by the player using the hands or intermediate devices such as sticks. (en)
