  • An individual drum with a barrel-shaped body, where the diameter is larger at the middle than at the ends. The drum body is enclosed at one end by a single tightly stretched membrane and the opposite end is open. The membrane is directly struck by the player using the hands or intermediate devices such as sticks. (en)
