Definition

  • One or more strings are stretched between fixed points. The instrument consists of a rigid tubular string bearer that is an internode length of bamboo. It is placed inside a resonator which is a palm leaf tied in the shape of a bowl. The resonator is not integral and can be detached without destroying the sound-producing apparatus. The strings are of separate material from the string bearer. Timor. (en)
